Responsible Gambling

Gambling should be entertainment, never a way to make money or fix a money problem. This page is for anyone reading about pokies bonuses.

Know the legal position

ACMA has blocked thepokies.net in Australia as an illegal offshore gambling website. No Australian licence has been verified. Offshore sites do not offer the consumer protections of Australian-licensed services, so think carefully before you play.

Set limits

• Decide a budget before you start and treat it as money already spent.
• Set a time limit and take regular breaks.
• Never chase losses or borrow to gamble.
• Read bonus wagering terms before accepting any offer.

Warning signs

• Gambling more than you planned
• Hiding gambling from family or friends
• Feeling anxious, irritable or low after playing
• Needing bigger bets for the same thrill

Where to get help

In Australia, Gambling Help Online offers free and confidential support. Gambling Therapy and BeGambleAware also publish advice and tools. If you feel in danger, contact local emergency services.

Adults only

You must be 18 or older. Keep devices and payment details away from children, and consider blocking software if gambling is a risk for you.
